Hilton Head Bridge Run Is One Of The Best Events

Celebrating its 25th year, the Hargray Hilton Head Island Bridge Run is hosting two fun-filled races and a health walk this November! Every year, hundreds of runners gather in Hilton Head Island to raise funds for locally chosen charities and challenge each other to a race. The Lowcountry tradition continues, and you’re invited to join!

Hilton Head Bridge Run 10K Race

The race begins at Crossings Park at 8 a.m. Runners will take off from the start line, run two miles before crossing the bridge and overpass, run another mile around the island, and then turn around to return to the finish line. 10k racers are organized into 14 male and female divisions based on their age, starting from 13 and under and ending at 75 and older.

Hilton Head Bridge Run 5K Race

The 5K race also begins at Crossings Park at 8 a.m. Runners are expected to take the same route as the 10K runners, but instead of crossing the bridge, they will turn back halfway across and race for the finish line. 12 divisions are organized for this race based on the runner’s age starting from 13 and under and ending at 65 and older.

Health Walk

Those who do not wish to race but still want to participate in the event may opt for the health walk. Although there are no winners for this race, walkers have one hour to complete the course. It’s a great way to contribute to the good cause without enduring the physical demands of running.

Prizes and Awards

All Hilton Head Bridge Run participants will receive a free Bride Run Tech T-shirt. After the race, awards will be given to the day’s top runners. Prizes and gift certificates will be given to the Top 3 Male and Female overall runners, as well as Male and Female Grand Masters. The race includes special awards to the Top Male and Female Grand Masters who are over 50 years old. The top three runners in each division will also be presented with awards.

After-Party

Don’t go! Stay after the race for the party at Crossing Park! Live music, refreshments, door prizes, prize drawings, and the award ceremony will be held during this event. It’s perfect for relaxing and meeting up with your friends after the big race.

Beneficiaries

Since its first year in 1992, the Hilton Head Bridge Run has hosted over 11,000 runners and raised more than $43,000 for local charities. The beneficiaries for this year’s race are Region 8 Special Olympics, The Children’s Relief Fund, and Hilton head High School Athletics.
