Hilton Head Halloween Events

Halloween celebrations start well before October 31 here in Hilton Head, so you don’t have to visit on Halloween weekend to join the fun. This year’s lineup includes local ghost stories, a wagon ride through the forest, and a few options for an evening out without the kids.

If you’re looking for a fun Hilton Head date night or an evening with friends, this is the one. The pop-up runs throughout October, but Starbird is closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Ghost Tours Near Hilton Head

Looking for a few more scares during your stay? Consider an evening trip to Savannah for a guided ghost tour. Its historic squares, old homes, and cemeteries provide plenty of material for spooky storytelling.
We recommend choosing your tour carefully: some welcome families, while others feature stronger scares or adults-only pub stops. Allow roughly an hour for the drive, plus time to park and reach your meeting point.
Ghosts & Gravestones
Climb aboard the “Trolley of the Doomed” for an approximately 80-minute nighttime tour through Savannah’s historic district. Costumed guides share local ghost stories along the route, with stops that include after-hours visits to the Andrew Low House and Perkins & Sons Ship Chandlery.
This is a good option for adults and teens who prefer a trolley experience over a full walking tour. The operator rates it PG-13 and says it is unsuitable for young children. Guests under 18 must have an accompanying adult. Reservations are required, and booking early for Halloween week is recommended.
Savannah Ghost Tours
For a more hands-on experience, Savannah Ghost Tours offers an All Ages Ghost Tour that incorporates ghost-hunting equipment, including K2 meters, dowsing rods, and spirit boxes. They also offer a separate, limited-seating séance experience led by psychic mediums for those who want to try to tap into the spirit realm.
Spooky Savannah Ghost Tours
Spooky Savannah offers two different ways to explore the city. Its Haunted History walking tour is advertised as family-friendly and suitable for all ages, with stories connected to historic squares, cemeteries, and buildings. It’s the option to consider if you’re bringing children.
For an adults-only outing, the Haunted Pub Crawl is the way to go. Voted the best ghost tour and haunted pub crawl in the city, the outing is approximately two hours and combines ghost stories with stops at local pubs and taverns; drinks cost extra.
