Holidays On Hilton Head Island

by witkowskiblair@gmail.com

The holidays are such a special time, and you deserve to spend them at a special place! Hilton Head Island is maybe a little different than your normal Thanksgiving or Christmas destination, but believe us, it is well worth it. Between festivals, an unwavering community, and the beautiful beaches that give you a tropical holiday feeling, this will be the most unforgettable and unbeatable holiday season you and your family could ask for.

To take full advantage of our beaches during the holidays, you’ll want to bring a few things with you. These things can make even the most summery of places feel festive, and help keep you prepared for whatever you and your family have in mind.

 1. Umbrellas and Chairs

If you’re headed there during sunset, the umbrella isn’t necessarily important, but if you’re going during the day it's always a good idea to come prepared with one. You never know how strong the sun will be even during cooler months. A chair helps to keep you out of that sand for less cleanup later.

 2. Beverages and Food

Remember to always check beach guidelines for what you can bring! Enjoy your holiday food and drinks like spiked apple cider right on the beach looking at the water- yes, it's as magical as it sounds!

 3. Music

The way to really make the holidays come to life is music! Having holiday themed music playing at a respectful volume is bound to make your holiday beach trip really sing.

 4. Lights

If you're going during the evening, bringing some lights to spread holiday cheer is not only a wonderful idea, but it will really set this trip apart from the rest. With the crashing waves, music playing, and lights twinkling, you’ll never want to leave.

Since we want you to have a fully packed celebration around this season, here are some ways to make holidays on and beach magical, and some amazing holiday events Hilton Head Island has to offer.

 5. November 11th- Holiday Craft Fair

The Holiday Craft Fair will have amazing treats and gifts for friends and family, and don’t forget those people who love trying new foods!

 6. November 23rd- Turkey Trot 10k and 5k

The turkey trot is coming! Run the 10k and 5k on Hilton Head island in November and start prepping for all that food you’ll be eating during Thanksgiving dinner!

 7. November 25th- 2023 Historic Holidays on Hilton Head Island

This event is a cause to support The Heritage Library and offers a holiday tea service along with sweet and savory holiday tastings. There will also be book author signings and a shopping experience with local artists and basket weavers.

 8. December 9th- "Introduction to Stained Glass: Christmas Stars" with Cynthia Buckley

Students can create their very own stained glass Chrstmas stars during this introduction with Cynthia Buckley! This course offers students of all levels a chance to make their very own tree stars. This class has limited availability due to ensuring close teaching, so make sure you get in now!

 9. December 24th- HHI Jingle Jingle 5K

 10. January 13th-Post-Holiday Dinner Party — Italian American Club of Hilton Head Island

Though you may or may not be used to a destination holiday season, the beaches here and amazing events are sure to win you over. The scenery is absolutely to die for especially during the colder months.

Hilton Head Island is incredibly excited for these holiday events to come, it's just another great way to spend time with the community, and meet folks from all over coming to visit us.

We hope these events get you just as excited for this holiday season, and remember- don’t wait too long to buy some of these tickets, or they may be sold out!
