What is Salute from the Shore?
Salute from the Shore offers a special chance for individuals, friends, and families to honor our armed forces while celebrating Independence Day along South Carolina’s beaches. Our goal is to organize and promote a military flyover that spans the entire length of South Carolina’s coast on July 4th. We will document the event from both the air and the ground to create a video that showcases the flyover for everyone to enjoy.
Salute From the Shore Vision
Our aim is to provide an accessible way for beachgoers in South Carolina to pay tribute to our military by coordinating a “Salute from the Shore”—a spectacular flyover along the entire coast each Independence Day. We aspire to unite participants in a synchronized salute to our troops, sharing the moment with audiences nationwide and around the world!
How to Participate:
- Head to the South Carolina coast at 1 PM on July 4th.
- Go “BIG!” with a large flag or get creative with your own unique tribute.
- Dress in red, white, and blue, and head to the beach.
- Capture your salute on camera and share it with the world! Post your videos and photos on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, a blog, or any platform you prefer.
Photos of aircraft are fantastic, but photos of people saluting the aircraft are even better.
- Tag your images and videos with #SaluteFromTheShore.
- Make it personal—whether you’re honoring someone serving overseas or remembering a fallen hero, share your tribute on this page.
