Exploring Pinckney Island

Pinckney Island National Wildlife Refuge, located at the northern tip of Hilton Head Island, is a location full of Lowcountry history and natural beauty. This tour explores three different habitats: the Salt Marsh, the Maritime Forest, and a fresh water lagoon. Every Tuesday and Thursday. Cost is $12 for adults, $7 children, ages 4-12. Kayaking Jarvis Creek

Join a naturalist guide in a kayak exploration of Jarvis Creek. Paddle through the calm, salt marsh, through many inlets and creeks looking for bottle-nosed dolphins, wading birds and other local wildlife. Cost is $32 for adults, $28 children, ages 5-12. Music & Taste on the Harbour

On Thursday's from 6-9pm at the Shelter Cove Harbour & Marina from March 24 - May 19. This free event is now in its eighth season, open to the public and mixes live local music with gourmet food and sunset water views. Music & Taste on the Harbour kicks off the season on March 24 from 6-9p.m., food and drinks will be set up around the iconic Neptune statue along with live music by Deas Guyz. 38th Annual Bluffton Village Festival

Bacon, Beer and Music Festival

Join The Island Rec Center for the second year, at the Shelter Cove Community Park on Saturday, May 7th. This culinary adventure will be all the fun of a bacon themed block party mixed with a full-scale festival experience. Many of the area's top restaurants, several of the area's top bands, and hundreds of the area's food lovers gather to celebrate American traditions - Beer, Bacon and Music. This event will feature bacon sampling and full sized bacon cuisine, bacon confectionary delights, live music from local bands, local breweries and full service bars with beer, liquor, wine and bacon themed cocktails. 20th Annual Rib Burnoff & Barbecue Fest

This annual fest is located at the Coastal Discovery Museum at Honey Horn. Local professionals and amateurs compete for the certified judges and popular vote. This fest features live music from the Portajohns, a children's tent with face painting and more. Beer, wine, soda, hot dogs, ice cream are available for purchase. Advanced tickets will be sold at participating businesses on the island, for $12. Tickets at the gate will be $15. Ticket holders get seven samples of ribs and barbecue with each ticket.
