Enjoy this ground level Hilton Head gem! The Happy Heron is located on the corner of Heron Street and Park Rd on North Forest Beach. Just a short walk to the beach or Coligny Plaza. Pups are welcomed to come along as well.
UNDER CONSTRUCTION / REMODEL
(10/1/2023 to 6/1/2024)
We started on October 1, 2023, taking the home down to the studs for a complete remodel. We will be open for business on June 1, 2024, as you consider your vacation spot for 2024 and beyond. Here’s a list of the updates we’re making:
- Expansion of the current Master Bedroom (King 1) and current ensuite Master Bathroom with a complete renovation.
- Addition of a 2nd Master Bedroom (King 2) and ensuite Master Bath, bringing the total to 4 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms (total square feet of home grew by 25%)
- Addition of a half bathroom with large vanity in 3rd King Bedroom.
- Addition of a dedicated Laundry Area with new, large, washer and dryer.
- Complete renovation of 3rdfull bath (Hall Bath).
- Open concept Living Room, Dining Room and vaulted-ceiling Kitchen with large island that comfortably seats 5.
- Complete remodel of the kitchen with new cabinets, appliances, and quartz countertops.
- Installation of all new light fixtures, ceiling fans, and electrical wiring throughout.
- Installation of new flooring throughout, including luxury vinyl wood and tile.
- New HVAC unit and ductwork, two zones with supply and returns in every room.
- Replacement of most furniture and furnishings throughout.
- Updated landscaping, privacy fencing, with fenced in doggie run area.
- Installation new doggie door.
- New outdoor dining set (seats 8) and shower area.

It was our first trip to Hilton Head and it did not disappoint. If I had to do it again, I would stay here. The pool is big and was the perfect temperature. The house is very comfortable and welcome and had everything we needed. The walk to the beach is short and direct and were happy to see how close it is to the town too. Everything you need is within walking distance including restaurants, shopping and even a grocery store.

Great place to stay. A few blocks from the beach and easy access to the beach. Family had a great time on the beach and the pool area. Not far from Coligny Plaza. Had a few minor problems but the property management took care of issues. Would stay in this location again if the opportunity presents itself.

This was a nice home - walkable to cute shopping/cafes. It could use some updates (especially the kitchen) but we didn’t cook much. King beds were excellent - bunks were to be desired. The gas grill was excellent - even had a new propane tank for when the attached one ran out.

This property was a great spot for a family vacation. Very short walk to the beach and close to the shops/restaurants in the Coligny plaza. The pool was an added bonus. The house could use a little love in terms of general maintenance and a good, deep clean. Overall, I would recommend a stay here at the Happy Heron.

The property itself is what we expected from the description. We were able to walk or ride bikes to shopping, restaurants and the main beach. We had access to a more private beach within a short walking distance, as well. Day trips in the car were also easy. So glad we were able to visit this property.
Perfect for our family vacation. The house is in a great location; short walk to the beach and Coligny Plaza. It was very clean when we arrived and had starter supplies until we could get to the store. Plenty of room for all of the family to gather outside, the living room, and around the table. The property manager/owner was timely in returning communication regarding the hot tub status.
